She both learned, and experienced, how toxic and negative patterns of behavior and beliefs can be locked in the body. Through movement, the arts, meditation, yoga and dance Françoise was able to unwind these patterns, release her trauma, and free herself. Everything was going well until the COVID-19 Pandemic hit and Françoise was knocked on her back again. Tune in this week to hear how she used her creativity, spirituality, and focus on personal growth and wisdom to get back up again and again.

After sustaining five decades of unresolved trauma the person Leslie thought she was collided with the person she was to become. At 54 years old she was diagnosed with a rare spinal disease and sustained a brain spine injury. She was told life was over as she had known it with no chance of recovery. Leslie was terrorized, sad, confused, depressed and alone, and worst of all, completely physically disabled. However, this breakdown led to a breakthrough. She began a profound, life-changing journey, which as hard as it was, had to be done, if only to prevent her passing on her trauma to her children.

Managing Miscarriage

Friday Jul 09, 2021

Friday Jul 09, 2021

Although miscarriages are incredibly common, they happen in nearly 40% of first time pregnancies, they are not talked about or held with the same weight as other losses. Society's minimization of this loss can result in disenfranchised grief in women. Their loss can be seen as insignificant or not important compared to other socially recognized losses. In this week's episode we'll speak to Melissa Tilleman Ryan who rose from the ashes of a miscarriage, business failure, and global pandemic to learn more about herself, women's health, and the meaning of love.

Music is the gateway to the soul. It can help us to find words for emotions that we didn't even know that we had. It can unlock and solidify memories. Music has been with humanity across time and cultures for all of recorded history and, it is just as powerful now as it was then. As a biracial and bireligious child, Marlys struggled to find her place. She felt stretched between two worlds. On the surface she appeared happy-go-lucky and put together, but inside she was lonely and afraid. Music helped her to find the words for her internal experience and to start to find her voice as a performer and a therapist. She now shares this gift with her clients. Tune in to this episode of From the Ashes as we hear how Marlys found her rhythm and got in tune.
